Jigger Sirois waves off his qualifying attempt on the first day of
qualifying for the Indy 500. Because of rain, no other cars attempt to
qualify that day. If Sirois had not waived it off, he would have sat on
pole. Sirois fails to qaulify for that year's 500 and also fails six more
times and never races in the 500 (1969).
