Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels actor to participate in Footman James Silverstone RetroRun

Huggy Leaver, who appeared in the cult 1998 British film Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, will hit the roads on Saturday, 25 August when he joins approximately 500 other classic car enthusiasts in the eighth annual Footman James Silverstone RetroRun.

Starting from Brands Hatch motor racing circuit in Kent, Huggy will drive his treasured 1972 Fiat 500 Abarth on this 130-mile `fun run'. Winding his way over the North Downs, and through leafy Surrey and Royal Berkshire, he will arrive at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire for the Silverstone Historic Festival, where he and the other RetroRunners will gather for two celebratory parade laps of the 3.14-mile Historic Grand Prix circuit.

"I'm really looking forward to the RetroRun and meeting loads of other historic car nuts like myself," enthused Huggy. "I've never taken part in a rally before but as I have been a loyal supporter of the Historic Festival at Silverstone for many years now, I thought I'd really immerse myself in the whole atmosphere of this year's event by joining the other RetroRunners."

Huggy spends his free-time restoring an array of other classic cars and motorcycles, such as a 1959 Austin-Healey Frogeye Sprite, a 1935 Wolseley Hornet Special, a 1939 Harley-Davidson and a Ducati 851 SP2.

As well as starring in the hugely successful Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Huggy Leaver has also made guest appearances in some of Britain's best-loved television programmes, such as Birds of a Feather, A Touch of Frost, Trial & Retribution and The Governor. He is at present filming `Night & Day' alongside Glynis Barber and Joe McGann.
