The first KL City Grand Prix, to be held from 7 to 9 August 2015, will see drivers zip through a 3.2km temporary circuit with 11 turns, along well-known streets of the capital city- Jalan P.Ramlee, Jalan Ampang Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Pinang.
Unlike the conventional track focus on circuits, racers at the KL City Grand Prix will be challenged by the “real” street dimensions while driving high performance street cars customised for the race.
Poised to be an annual event organised by GT Global Race (M) Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), the first KL City Grand Prix will set the stage for future Asian KL City Grand Prix series, to be held in Manila, Colombo, Jakarta and Bangalore.
With plenty of excitement over the Grand Prix Festival week, from 1 to 9 August, the KL City Grand Prix is all set to thrill fans of motorsports, culture and entertainment.
The KL City Grand Prix is designed to adhere to rules and regulations of the world governing body for motorsports, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The race will be analysed and monitored by Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM), the local body authorised by FIA for of motor-racing authority in Malaysia.
