#8 Team BOC: Jason Bright
Chris Von Wieldt
PROBLEMATIC PRACTICE FOR BRIGHTY
Sixty minutes is not a lot of time to tune a V8 Supercar and Team BOC only had half that today thanks to a costly mechanical issue in Tasmania.
Jason Bright said he knew something was wrong the minute he rolled down pit lane in today's last 30-minute practice session and ultimately had to retire for the team to investigate.
In the earlier practice session Brighty said the car was not on the pace, but that tuning would help for tomorrow's 50-lap race. He will now have to do that in the morning's 20 minute qualifying session at 11.20.
Jason Bright Team BOC "We weren't quick enough in our first session but I thought there were little things we could do to tune it up. We definitely had work to do in that last session.
"Unfortunately, as soon as I got in the car I knew something was wrong. The steering was heavy in one direction but not the other; I knew something had broken somewhere. It just wasn't turning and I kept on making mistakes. I thought 'this just can't be right.'
"That means we're now having to tune as we go again this weekend, which isn't ideal."
