10 Fast Fact about the Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series at Winton Raceway

1) Winton Raceway is 3km long and runs in a clockwise direction.

2) Layton "Leadfoot" Crambrook holds the Lap record for Winton set in Race One, 2008 in a time of 1:39.2946.

3) 2008 was the first time that the V8 Utes have raced at Winton Raceway since, 2003.

4) Eight Drivers in the current Series competed in the V8 Utes in 2003 they include; Robert Jarvis, Gary Baxter, Jack Elsegood, Kim Jane, Nandi Kiss, Ben Dunn, Stephen Robinson and Charlie Kovacs.

5) Warren Luff held the lap record from 2003 – 2008 he set the record in Race One and then broke it in Race Two and held it in a time of 1:41.21.

6) Gary Baxter had his first car race at Winton Raceway 30 years ago.

7) Charlie "No Mo" Kovacs Jnr competed against dad, Charlie "Handlebars" Kovacs Snr for the first time at Winton Raceway, 2008.

8) In 2008 New Zealand driver, Chris Pither qualified in the top ten but received a late last minute call up from Team Kiwi Racing to drive their V8 Supercar, which prevented him from taking his spot on the grid for Race One of the V8 Utes.

9) Winton Raceway is home to #85 Ray Sidebottom who hails from Numurkah.
