Ford BF driver #14 Brad "Packers" Patton has had an impressive start to the 2009 Yokohama V8 Ute Racing Series.
Patton has been racing in the Series since Indy in 2007 and has now successfully raced at 12 rounds.
The Patton's Big Gun Butchers owner has brought on board some new sponsors for his 2009 season including; Sunblest, Chill, Denco, KC Tools, Frantelle, Vehicle Wraps and Protec and is pumped about 2009.
"I am feeling good this year. We didn't have such a great run last year however I have been working out and focussing a lot more on my racing," said Patton.
The Brisbane based driver showed he was a force to be reckoned with in Round 1 at the Clipsal 500 after he passed 10 cars in Race 2 starting from 27th position to end in 17th. His Race 2 performance also saw him claim the CI Performance Hole Shot Award for the best race start picking up $500 cash.
He stayed consistent in Race 3 to collect another 17th place and ended the round in 26th position overall, after not finishing race 1 due to engine failure.
Round 2 at Winton Raceway was even more successful with Patton posting his best ever performance in Race 2 and 3 coming in 11th overall, securing a top 13 place for the round.
His Round 2 results has also pushed him up the Series leader board into 17th place behind Rookies Gary Carson and Paul Williams.
Patton races against father-in-law, Peter Burnitt in the Big Gun Racing team and they will both take to the track for Round 3 at Symmons Plains Tasmania 29 31 May.
Round 2 will be televised on the Seven Network Saturday, 16th May at 1:30pm.
