MCNALLY SNEAKS INTO TOP 16 IN V8 UTES

Glenn McNally managed to overcome a slow start to race 1 of the V8 Utes today to secure a front row start in tomorrow's revere-top-16 race 2.

After cooking the clutch off the start line in what Glenn described and a 'botched start' he dropped back to 17th place from his 13th starting position.

"I didn't really have a good race," Glenn said.

"I got back to 15th by the end through a few guys dropping out ahead of me."

Although disappointed with 15th place it was always his goal to try and finish in the top 16.

"We achieved our goal today, but only just.

"The boys will put a new clutch in it tonight and we give it a red hot go tomorrow.

"If I can get a good start I will be in with a chance to get a break as a couple of the guys around me are not as fast."

Glenn was happy with the speed of his car on the high speed sections of the track but felt he lacked a little under brakes.

"I will have to make every post a winner tomorrow; we have been in this position many times and come out with strong results."

Tomorrow's race will be televised so Glenn has a great opportunity to give his sponsors and supporters some exposure.

Race 2 is scheduled for 9am tomorrow.
