"Fishtail" Reels in the Big One!
Australian V8 Ute driver Andrew "Fishtail" Fisher will take his Jesus All About Life Racing Team to a new level when he steps behind the wheel of the Sieders Racing V8 Supercar in a few weeks.
Fisher will hit the big time at Phillip Island and also Bathurst where he'll share the Endurance rides with Colin Sieders.
Colin's brother David was forced to pull-out due to injury and Fisher was more than happy to step up to the plate.
"It was trepidation. I was overwhelmed however very pleased to be asked. I've been doing a bit of Supercar testing this year so it's great to actually get out there and compete. I will get in the car next Wednesday for the first time so pretty excited about that."
The New South Welshmen had his share of drives this year including a MINI at Sandown Raceway whilst he competed in Round six of the V8 Ute Series.
He's no stranger to juggling his track time with the V8 Utes. He raced his Fujitsu car last year at Bathurst and Oran Park and will continue his dual drives at Bathurst in October with the V8 Supercar and again at Homebush when he competes in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series and the final round of the V8 Ute Series.
"I think for us it's really about the Ute Series. I love the Utes and enjoy racing at any track."
"Any track time at Bathurst is good. I've had to increase my fitness level for the endurance drive so I've been running a lot more," said Fisher.
Andrew is one of many drivers over the years that has graduated to V8 Supercars through the V8 Ute Series.
Damien White, Marcus Zukanovic, Chris Pither, Colin Corkery, Grant Denyer, Warren Luff, James Moffat and Dean Canto have all into gone on to race V8 Supercars after learning the basics of race craft driving Utes.
Round seven of the 2009 V8 Ute Racing Series -- protected by Armor All will take place at the iconic Mt Panorama track at Bathurst, 8 -- 11 October.
