Todd Kelly’s Nissan Motorsport V8 Supercar will run a one-off livery for this weekend’s Sydney Motorsport Park round, before a new multi-year sponsorship deal kicks off at Sandown.
Long-time Nissan partner OneStreel Reinforcing will take over the major branding of the #7 Altima for this weekend’s SuperSprint at Sydney Motorsport Park, which means a fresh look.
However, it will only be a one-off, with Kelly’s long-term deal with online automotive retailer carsales.com.au set to kick in before the Sandown 500 next month.
“OneSteel Reinforcing has enjoyed a very rewarding relationship with the Nissan Motorsport team for more than five years and this weekend presents an exciting opportunity to further build on that relationship with our naming rights sponsorship of Todd Kelly’s race car. “ said OneSteel Reinforcing NSW Region Manager Grant Rennett.
For Kelly, the SMP round doesn’t mean a new look, but also a new career milestone. The 2005 Bathurst 1000 winner will become the eighth most capped driver in Australian Touring Car Championship/V8 Supercars history.
“It’s exciting” said Kelly.
“It should be a good weekend all round. Our Nissan cars have always had a good balance at Sydney Motorsport Park.
“Everyone has progressed but if we get it right there then hopefully it will have a lot of potential for us.”
