Successful test for TeamVodafone in preparation for Clipsal 500 showdown
TeamVodafone hit the track at Queensland Raceway today feeling confident as they prepare to head to Australia’s first V8 Supercar Championship Series event of the season, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide on March 17 – 20.
While the team came away from the opening V8 Supercar event in Abu Dhabi last month with mixed results, they applied the knowledge gained at the Yas V8 400 to today's test in preparation for the two gruelling 250km races in a fortnights time.
Both Drivers posted impressive lap times with low 1min 11's but the focus of the day was on fuel economy rather than outright speed.
Team Principle, Adrian Burgess was pleased with the progress they made and the feedback from both the drivers and engineers was extremely positive ahead of one of the toughest events of the year.
Joining the duo today was Whincup's endurance teammate Andrew Thompson, who commandeered a jet black commodore with no livery.
With the teams main test day out complete Bathurst Champion Lowndes will now prepare to take motoring guru Jeremy Clarkson for the ride of his life in the very Commodore that won last years 'Great Race'.
Event 2 of the 2011 V8 Supercar Championship Series will be held at Adelaide Parklands on March 17 – 20.
