First Win For Team BOC!

I was glad to hear that Karl was alright.

The rarely emotional Brad Jones could not help himself today as he applauded Team BOC's first-ever win after an amazing day of drama at Barbagallo Raceway.

It started with Jason Bright's team-mate Karl Reindler being taken to hospital with second-degree burns after a start-line incident saw his car engulfed in a ball of fire.

Bright, starting from P2, kept his cool and, on the restart, jumped Jamie Whincup for the lead and drove away for his first win since 2006 and Team BOC's first win ever.

In the day's second race Bright again jumped Whincup off the start and drew out a three-second lead by the pit window. A stuck wheel clip delayed his release, however, and he finished the day in P2.

"I'm just so excited about it. For ten years I've dreamt of this day and it's just been a fantastic weekend to tell you the truth. I can't say enough good things about the whole team. We've got such a great group of people.

"The drive was sensational; everything was just perfect. The only thing that was missing this weekend was not having JR here."

"That meant a lot. We've worked pretty hard this year and have had a tough couple of rounds over the last few months. They were pretty frustrating times and we needed to bounce back from that if we were going to stay in the championship battle. We did that today.

"We put a lot of thought into it and the team did a great job but this win today was certainly for JR and I think everyone understands that, if he was around, it would be him up here winning races as well.

"In terms of Karl's accident, I was glad to hear that Karl was alright. Seeing the vision on the big screens was pretty horrific, but the car and race suit did their job and he got out pretty quickly. It was scary seeing the mechanics first on the scene and fire crews walking casually up to the car. It's just lucky Karl wasn't knocked out and I'm sure they'll be an investigation into it."
