BARGWANNA BEGINS ON THE RIGHT FOOT IN TASMANIA
Jason Bargwanna has continued to show pace in the #10 WPS Racing Falcon by finishing 11th fastest in practice for the Falken Tasmania Challenge at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania today.
Bargwanna missed a top 10 position by 0.0336 seconds at the 2.4-kilometre circuit today, while team-mate Max Wilson was within a second of the day's fastest time in 26th position driving the #8 WOW Racing Falcon.
Coming off the back of a top 10 performance at the latest round in Bahrain a fortnight ago, Bargwanna continued his good form with his showing in practice today after overcoming early tyres problems.
Wilson worked hard on improving the balance of his car and is confident of climbing up the order tomorrow, when qualifying and Race One are held.
Mark Winterbottom was fastest in practice today ahead of Garth Tander, Steven Richards, Lee Holdsworth and Shane Price.
WHAT THE TEAM HAS TO SAY ...
Max Wilson -- #8 WOW Racing Falcon
"We had the front of the car working well but had to work at getting the rear end of the car working the way we need it to work," said Wilson.
"The tyres we used today were not that great and we did not use new tyres at all. With the field so close around that can mean a bit.
"We will work on the balance of the car and I am confident that tomorrow we will have a better package."
Jason Bargwanna -- #10 WPS Racing Falcon
"It's definitely a nice way to start the weekend," said Bargwanna.
"We had some tyre trouble early in the session but once we got on top of that we were able to set some good times and work on improving the car.
"We made some improvements and got a bit of a rhythm going out there. I think we got a good idea of what we have to do tomorrow."
Craig Gore -- WPS/WOW Racing Team Owner
"Bargs is on a roll at the moment and it's great to see him right up there at this early stage," said Gore.
"It's still early days and the real stuff starts tomorrow, but it's a good effort to have a solid start and I'm sure that we will have Max right up there with Bargs tomorrow.
"Qualifying tomorrow should be very interesting because the times are very close, which is always the case at Symmons Plains."
