Jeff Grech Appointed Tasman Managing Director

Wednesday, August 01, 2007 -- Leading Holden V8 Supercar team Tasman Motorsport has undergone a management restructure, with Jeff Grech taking over as Managing Director, effective immediately.

Grech takes over from Kevin Murphy, who has stepped aside to devote more time to building Greg Murphy Racing, his Fujitsu V8 Supercar and Porsche Carrera Cup teams. Murphy will provide active assistance to Grech in his new role.

In previous roles as General Manager of the Holden Racing Team and as a director of TWR Australia, Grech led HRT and Kmart Racing to six V8 Supercar Championships and six Bathurst 1000 victories.

"For the future development of both Tasman Motorsport and Greg Murphy Racing, the timing was right to step aside," Murphy said. "Jeff's record in V8 Supercars is unsurpassed and he is the right person for us to take the next step forward."

Grech said he was looking forward to his new role.

"In its short history, Tasman Motorsport has built an enviable reputation. It has all the ingredients to become one of the sport's premier teams - a strong engineering base, two very good drivers and great staff - and I am looking forward to the challenge," Grech said.
