PRUETT LOOKS FOR HONEYMOON REPEAT ON THE GOLD COAST

Scott Pruett is ready and rearing to go for the coming Armor All Gold Coast 600 - now just five days away.

Scott and his wife Judy Pruett are big fans of Australia and the Gold Coast, with Scott winning the 1997 Gold Coast race while the pair enjoyed their honeymoon.

Fresh from their arrivals on the Gold Coast, with Judy arriving just this morning from San Francisco, the pair took some time out at Palazzo Versace to chat to members of the media about the week ahead.

"It is great being back here, it is hard to believe the first time I came to Australia was back in 1991 some twenty years ago," said Pruett.

"To be back on the Gold Coast and to be getting set to race on this track in a V8 Supercar is pretty exciting, I think its going to be incredible."

Kicking off on Friday October 22 and running through until Sunday October 24, the three day, three night entertainment extravaganza will bring together 18 international drivers with the home-grown heroes of the V8 Supercar series, alongside 16 Australian and International artists who will rock the Broadwater Parklands each night.

"Since this event and the drivers concept was announced, in America there has been such a buzz around the whole event and some of the European drivers who are coming here have told me that it is the same where they come from," said Pruett.

"When you look at what you can do here, all the entertainment, all the bands, and all the racing, what you get for your ticket is just phenomenal, so I think its brilliant for the fans.

"We were here just two years ago with the whole family on a big holiday and it was just great, but it is a bit special to be back here this year with Judy, just the two of us, and reminisce a bit about 1997!"

Judy Pruett echoed her husband's sentiments, exclaiming that Australia is a favourite location for the family.

"That trip back two years ago was memory-making, it was just amazing and we love coming here," said Judy Pruett.

"There is something special about this year though, with just the two of us here for the race, thinking back on our honeymoon.

"We love the place, the people, it is going to be a special week."

Pruett is one of a field of 18 international stars who have flown from all across the world to compete in this special event on the streets of the Gold Coast.

Each day of the October 22-24 event will see the 18 international stars paired with the 29 home-grown heroes of the V8 Supercar Series taking to the concrete jungle of the Gold Coast street circuit, with the skills of these drivers - some of the best in the world - to truly be put to the test by the Aussie V8 Supercar machines and their unique style.

When the checkered flag has flown at the end of each day, 600 Sounds presented by Hard Rock will fire up each night at the Broadwater Parklands entertainment precinct, bringing together a wide range of musical acts across a whole range of genres.
