START TO FINISH WIN FOR LAWRENCE IN AUSSIE RACING CARS AT SUPER GP

David Lawrence dominated race of the Aussie Racing Cars at the Gold Coast's Nikon Super GP today after fighting off contenders Kyle Clews and Nick Percat.

Lawrence is looking to clean sweep the event, having qualified fastest and winning race 1 yesterday before going on to lead every lap of race 2 today.

Clews put up a great fight but had Nick Percat to contend with for much of the race while setting a new outright lap record on lap five of the race.

Adam Gowans finished fourth after fighting with Brad Ward for much of the race and overcoming the fellow Aurion driver with three laps to go.

Gowans missed the first practice session yesterday with electrical problems and suffered a broken gearbox in qualifying which left him no choice but to install a spare engine for the racing.

Mark Duckworth was once again the man to beat in the Masters Cup race, finishing 11th outright while Darren Chamberlin and Glen McNamara rounded out the top three.

Of the guest drivers it was Percat that was the most dominant in third outright while Brad Lowe was tenth and Bathurst standout David Besnard had problems and finished one lap down.

The fight is sure to continue as the business end of the event is fast approaching with race 3 tomorrow and race 4 on Sunday.

The big question is whether Lawrence can get through unbeaten.
