V8 STARS BRISBANE-BOUND THIS MONDAY
While the Nikon SuperGP gets underway next Thursday October 22, fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with their V8 Supercar heroes this Monday October 19, in Brisbane's CBD.
Ten of the local V8 Supercar drivers will be in Brisbane's Reddacliff Place this coming Monday, signing autographs and, in conjunction with Triple M, giving away event prizes including merchandise and four day passes to the event.
The Nikon SuperGP will kick off next Thursday on October 22 on the streets of Surfers Paradise.
Reigning V8 Supercar Champion and Gold Coast winner Jamie Whincup will be joined by his team-mate Craig Lowndes as well as James Courtney, Steven Johnson, Alex Davison, Russell Ingall, Shane van Gisbergen, Fabian Coutlhard, Michael Patrizi and Tim Slade from 12.30pm to 1.15pm.
Fans are advised to get there early, with Triple M set to be on-site from 9.00am with a live broadcast from Reddacliff Place.
Reigning Gold Coast winner Jamie Whincup said he was looking forward to the chance to meet the Brisbane fans ahead of his big local event.
"With Bathurst now run, the championship chase moves to my home race the Nikon SuperGP, and I can't wait to get to it," said Whincup.
"The chase for the title is close and in 2009 the Gold Coast race was pivotal to me clinching the championship -- so now I just want to get on track and give it all that I have as it is all about the championship.
"Before we do that however, Craig and I as well as some of our fellow racers will be heading to Brisbane to sign autographs for the fans and giveaway some prizes with Triple M, which is sure to be a lot of fun!
"We will be signing autographs from 12.30pm to 1.15pm, so I urge all the fans to get there early and enjoy the Triple M entertainment and be ready to meet us all, as we are really looking forward to meeting them!"
The 2009 Nikon SuperGP will host Event 11 of the V8 Supercar Championship Series and the first round of the 2009/10 A1GP World Cup of Motorsport.
