Ellery Completes His Betta Drive.

Today, Triple Eight Race Engineering announced that it will not be taking up the option of Steve Ellery's second term with Team Betta Electrical.

Team Principal, Roland Dane said while it was not an easy decision to make he felt it was necessary to advise the appropriate parties.

"This decision was not an easy one to make, but in the interests of both the Team and Steve, I felt it was appropriate to advise everyone now," Dane said.

"While not extending Steve's contract beyond the current year, we recognise Steve's considerable driving skills, professional commitment and team work and I personally wish him every success for the future.

"With a season that has some memorable moments including Bathurst's third place, Steve has been a pleasure to have around the team. He is a real gentleman."

Steve Ellery said while it is disappointing to not be renewing he has thoroughly enjoyed my time at Triple Eight.

"The racing has been great, terrific friendships have been forged and I have gained an appreciation of how a top team approaches racing, particularly as the Team consolidates its engineering and race technologies," Ellery said.

"I expect the team's true potential will soon be realised and I will be doing everything I can over the three remaining rounds to realise these expectations."

Triple Eight Race Engineering will announce their second driver for the 2006 V8 Supercar season in the coming weeks.
