Slade’s new look revealed

Tim Slade’s Brad Jones Racing Commodore will sport this striking new livery for the 2016 V8 Supercars season.

Slade takes over the #14 Freightliner entry from Penske-bound Fabian Coulthard for the 2016 season, slotting into the three-car team alongside veteran Jason Bright and another new singing in Tim Blanchard.

While the first test of the season is still several weeks away, Slade has been spending time at the team’s HQ in Albury to help integrate himself into his new surroundings.

“It’s been a great couple of days at the workshop,” said Slade.

“The guys are busy preparing the cars and everything is coming along really nicely. The energy in the workshop is great and I’ve enjoyed spending time with the team.

“Preparation is key and I know the team are working hard to ensure that when we get to Clipsal and can hit the ground running. As always I’ve been spending a lot of time working on my fitness and even got to hit a couple of the hills around Albury on my visit.
“Freightliner Racing have had success at Clipsal, and when the team and I return there in March the weekend will mark BJR’s 500th V8 Supercar Race start. I hope to get another good result on the board for the guys.

“There is a lot to look forward to in the year ahead.”

The team has also confirmed that Julian Stannard will take over lead engineer duties on the #14 car, joined by data engineer Tom Wettenhall.

There is also a new car in the works, chassis BJR007 set to make its on-track debut when testing kicks off at Winton on February 22.
