MCNALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE FAMILIAR TERRITORY AT SANDOWN
Hi-Tec Oils Racing driver Mark McNally is looking forward to racing on more familiar ground in his second V8 Supercar start at the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge in Melbourne this weekend.
A recent Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series graduate, McNally made his main series debut on the streets of Townsville aboard the #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore earlier this month.
This weekend at Sandown, McNally will get the chance to race at a venue where he has past experience, as well as now having the benefit of putting his debut event behind him.
The West Australian has raced both Fujitsu V8 Supercars and Formula Fords at the 3.1-kilometre Melbourne circuit, which often produces exciting racing as a result of a fast layout and races that are often interrupted by the rains of Victoria's fickle winter weather.
WHAT MARK HAD TO SAY ...
Mark McNally - #16 Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore:
"I'm really pumped about this event at Sandown," said McNally.
"My lead-up has been really good this time around.
"Coming off Townsville, where I was sick, I had to learn a new car and brand new track, so I always knew that I was being thrown in deep end to some extent.
"For Sandown my preparation has been really good. I now know the Hi-Tec Oils Holden Commodore and also the Sandown track so I'm aiming to put in a better performance.
"I've been at the Kelly Racing workshop for a few days leading into this event and the team is doing a great job and they're all really supportive, so I'm looking forward to this weekend."
