ORRCON RACING FIGHTS TO MOVE UP THE ORDER
Larkham -- Orrcon Racing overcame engine problems it endured throughout the opening practice session at the Betta Electrical 500 at Sandown today to allow Mark Winterbottom to set the 12th fastest time in this afternoon's final practice.
A mysterious engine problem hampered the speed on board the number 20 Orrcon Racing Falcon during the opening two-hour session forcing Jason Bargwanna down the order.
A rapid engine change by the team enabled Winterbottom to take the wheel in this afternoon's session and finish less than a second from the fastest time set in the session.
Alain Menu and Matt Halliday showed consistent improvement throughout the two sessions to finish the final session just outside the top 20.
Qualifying will be conducted tomorrow from 1:30pm followed by the top ten shootout. The 161-lap race, round nine of the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship, will begin at 1pm on Sunday.

"We had a couple of engine mishaps to start the day but we fixed the problem for the final session and improved our time. Now we will be working to further improve the chassis set up for tomorrow's qualifying session," said Mark Winterbottom.
"The car has a bit of understeer at the moment so we will be going through the data tonight to see how we can improve the set up before tomorrow's qualifying.
"Bargs will qualify the car tomorrow, as he did last year, hopefully he can put in a good time to move us into the top ten shootout."

"We made some improvements on the car throughout the day which helped the times.
"Driving with Matt is the best I have had it when it comes to the driving position and compromise. We have very much the same driving and pedal positions which makes life easy."
