PERKINS PLEASED WITH DAY ONE FORM IN SANDOWN

Dodo Racing Team driver Jack Perkins has made a solid start to the Norton 360 Sandown Challenge, pleased with his performance in practice at the Melbourne circuit on Friday.

Perkins had the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore in the top half of the time sheets for most of the day, only falling down the order in the final moments.

Perkins suffered from a vibration when running on his best set of practice tyres at the end of Part C of practice, denying him the chance better his best lap time for the day.

The second generation racer is confident that he can keep the improvement going in qualifying and the first race of the weekend on Saturday.

Mark Winterbottom was fastest in practice at Sandown today ahead of Jamie Whincup and Will Davison.

WHAT JACK HAD TO SAY ...

Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore:

"As a team today we made a lot of improvements over the day," said Perkins.

"The Dodo team was able to fix a few things along the way, really work hard together and we were able to get somewhere with it all in the end.

"We went to put out best set of tyres on at the end of practice but unfortunately we had a bad vibration and it nearly shook my glasses off!

"Fortunately we've still got new tyres for tomorrow and I'm looking forward to having a good day aboard the Dodo Commodore."
