Chaz Mostert led the way in the final V8 Supercars practice session ahead of this morning’s opening qualifying session.
It was a Prodrive Racing Australia 1-2 at the top of the times, with Mostert leading home David Reynolds by just 0.067s at the end of the 15-minute session.
“It’s a good indication,” said Mostert. “Hopefully we’re up the pointy end for qualifying.”
Fabian Coulthard was a late improver in the Brad Jones Racing Commodore, rocketing to third inside the final minute of the session, while Will Davison, who led the way mid-way through the session, wound up fourth fastest.
Shane van Gisbergen was fifth fastest for Tekno, ahead of Dale Wood and Craig Lowndes.
Friday pace-setter Tim Slade was eighth fastest, Penske’s Scott Pye was ninth, while Jason Bright made it three BJR cars in the Top 10.
