David Wall Blown Away at the L&H 500

Current Australian GT Championship leader, David Wall was literally blown away during his first taste of the Phillip Island circuit in his #333 Wilson Security Racing V8 Supercar.

With severe winds gusting across the track the conditions were not ideal, but David was keen to get in some laps in his car.

Prior to today David had only completed ten laps in the Wilson Security Racing BF, having done most of his test sessions in the FG so his focus was to get comfortable in the car and with the circuit.

"My first session went reasonably well. We made a number of changes to the car in an attempt to get it right for qualifying tomorrow," said David.

"The wind made it very difficult to get a real feel for the car but we were able to make improvements to the way the car was handling.

"I am confident that I will be able to move up the time sheets tomorrow as I lost close to a second on my quickest lap due to an error through one of the corners, so I know there is more speed there.

"It is fantastic to be in the car and I can't wait to get back out there tomorrow!"

David will return to the track tomorrow in the second practice session at 9:55am with his co-driver for this weekend, Leanne Tander in the car for the first session.

Each driver will then compete in their own qualifying session and race later on Saturday, with the 113 lap main race kicking off at 13:35 on Sunday afternoon.
