Thirty-seven-year-old Peter Heban will be in for the ride of his life at this weekend's Konica V8 Supercar Series round at Mallala Motorsport Park as he takes to the 2.6 kilometre circuit for a 'Hot Lap' with Gulf Western Oil's Matthew White in his Ford Falcon AU.

Peter, a keen Ford fan, was diagnosed with cancer of the bowel, liver and hip last year and was diagnosed with cancer of the lungs earlier this year.

White, who is heading into the sixth round of the Konica V8 Supercar Series round at Mallala in second position on the Championship points table, is looking forward to the opportunity to provide Peter with the chance to fulfil his life long dream.

"It is fantastic to be in a position to offer Peter the opportunity to live one of his dreams, I certainly hope the Gulf Western Falcon doesn't disappoint"

White will be heading into this weekend's round with second position for the 2003 Konica V8 Supercar Series Championship all but tied up due to the implementation of the current points system that sees drivers drop their worst round at the end of the series.

"It is a little frustrating going into the final round only 40 points behind series leader and knowing we can't take out the series. After finishing second in 2000 to 2003 Bathurst and Sandown team mate Dean Canto I was hoping we would go one better. Unfortunately this wont be the case so we have nothing to lose going for an all out victory"

Stone Brothers Racing youngster Mark Winterbottom secured the 2003 Konica V8 Supercar Series Championship title at the last round at Winton Motor Raceway, easing the pressure of his performance this weekend.

The sixth and final round of the Konica V8 Supercar Series will be held at Mallala Motorsport Park on August 30-31 with practice and qualifying kicking off on Saturday 30th August at 10am.
