Craig Lowndes will run under the Autobarn Lowndes Racing banner for the next two seasons, with automotive retailer Autobarn taking over as his major backer from Caltex.
The veteran superstar is currently in his second season under the TeamVortex banner, which was formed when he shifted to a third Triple Eight entry as Shane van Gisbergen joined the team for 2016.
Next year that third Triple Eight car will morph into Autobarn Lowndes Racing, with Autobarn stepping up its backing while Caltex scales its support back.
The Autobarn deal ties in with a fresh two-year driving contract that Lowndes signed earlier this year.
“It’s fantastic to extend the team’s very successful partnership with Autobarn, as well as my own personal relationship with them, which began over 15 years ago,” said Lowndes.
“I am grateful of Autobarn’s support over these many years and that they’ve now chosen to take an even stronger position going forward. It has always been a relationship that I have valued highly.
“I’m pretty excited to roll out a totally new look and I’m looking forward to sharing it with fans early next year.”
Lowndes will be back in action alongside co-driver Steve Richards on the Gold Coast this weekend, as the pair look to turn around what’s been a tough enduro campaign so far.
