AND THE BOYS WANT YOUR CAR FOR THE DRIVE TO BATHURST...

Kelly Racing is inviting fans into its Braeside workshop for a Bathurst 'send off party' before the team's annual road trip to Mount Panorama.

The team will hold its annual open day on October 3rd, the Sunday before The Great Race, where Todd and Rick Kelly will also unveil the car they will be driving to Bathurst this year.

After previous drives in a 1953 Chevrolet V8 and a 1973 Kingswood towing a caravan, this year the Kellys are allowing fans to offer up unique Holdens for the trip as part of a promotion with the Hughesy + Kate breakfast show on NovaFM in Melbourne.

With the boys offering between $2,000 - $4,000 (price negotiable) to buy a classic car for the trip, the vehicle chosen is sure to make for an interesting journey, the seventh time that the Kelly brothers have undertaken their now-famous Bathurst road trip, a tradition they share with so many racing fans around the country.

As well as sending off the Jack Daniel's Racing drivers on their Bathurst road trip, the day will feature pit stop and driver change demonstrations, driver autograph sessions, hot rod displays and all four Kelly Racing V8 Supercars on show in the Kelly Racing workshop.

There will also be various door prizes drawn on the day and the opportunity to secure some exclusive team memorabilia.

Doors open from 10:00am and entry is by gold coin donation, with proceeds to support the Kelly Racing's official charity for 2010, Very Special Kids. Visit www.kellyracing.com.au for full info.

"We want to make our Kelly Racing open day an annual event and given how much interest there is in our annual Bathurst road trip, we've decided to throw a send-off party for our fans," said Todd Kelly.

TODD AND RICK WANT YOUR CAR FOR THEIR ANNUAL BATHURST ROAD TRIP

Bathurst champions Todd and Rick Kelly have added a twist to their annual road trip to the classis Mount Panorama circuit.

The brothers are asking for help from fans and Nova FM listeners to find the car that will get they will drive to Bathurst this year for the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 on October 7-10.

Todd and Rick are offering between $2,000 - $4,000 (price negotiable) to buy a car for the trip, so it is sure to be an interesting journey for the pair this year.

"Last year we had my matte black 1953 Chev and that was a lot of fun. We drove half way one day and the other half the next," said Rick Kelly.

"We normally buy it and make sure it can do enough kilometres for the trip, at the very least to get up there in one piece, because there would be nothing worse than sitting in Wagga and watching the race without us being there because we've broken down!"

Requirements for cars submitted for consideration are:
- has to be a GM product (if not Holden can be Chevrolet, Vauxhall etc)
- Large size car
- Pre '75 would be ideal
- Original condition
- Good working order (has to do 2000 km without trouble)

The Kelly brothers will have a Bathurst send off party at their Kelly Racing headquarters on Sunday 3 October where the car will be unveiled to the public for the first time.

"We will unveil the car, cook some snags and everyone can check out the workshop before waving the two team transporters and the drivers off on our merry way," said Rick Kelly.

To submit cars you would like to sell to Todd and Rick for this year's Bathurst road trip just visit the Nova FM website.

Submit a photo of the car and a brief description so that Todd, Rick and Nova FM breakfast host Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek can make the final decision on what the boys will drive to Bathurst this October.

"Imagine if you got to say to people 'the Kelly brothers bought my car^a you might have seen them on the news last night^a broken down'," said Kate Langbroek.
