Success n -- The accomplishment of an aim; a favourable outcome (their efforts met with success)

Over the past two weeks the team at Larkham -- Orrcon Racing has bound together working day and night to ensure Mark Winterbottom made it to this weekend's round of the V8 Supercar Championship in Darwin.

Its efforts were rewarded during yesterday's qualifying session when Winterbottom qualified for a career first top ten shootout by setting the fifth fastest qualifying time.

Unfortunately an incident during the opening turn of race one caused damage to both Winterbottom's and his team-mate Jason Bargwanna's Orrcon Racing Falcons. The incident dropped Winterbottom to the back of the pack undoing his great work qualifying effort while Bargwanna was forced to retire from the race.

Despite this setback the team worked into the night to repair the damaged cars to push for success and move up the order in today's pair of 48-lap races.

During the opening lap of today's first race Winterbottom was again caught up in the wrong place at the wrong time damaging the bonnet of his Orrcon Racing Falcon impairing his vision.

Only quick and lateral thinking by the team during a pit stop where they literally body slammed the bonnet on his Number 20 Orrcon Racing Falcon ensured that Winterbottom was able to continue with clear vision.

Bargwanna meanwhile was on the charge towards the front to be running as high as 10th mid way through the race before he was spun out of contention by another competitor late in the race causing significant damage to his Number 10 Orrcon Racing Falcon.

With only an hour between races the team worked frantically to repair the rear end, boot, doors, front spoiler and several steering components on the Orrcon Racing Falcon to ensure Bargwanna made it to the grid for the third and final race, an achievement which was a success in its own right considering the damage.

In today's final race both drivers were again forced to overcome adversity for the third time in as many races.

Bargwanna encountered a flat spotted tyre which forced him into an unscheduled pit stop mid race and was spun by another competitor making his result inside the top twenty a great achievement.

Winterbottom moved up the order from his 27th starting position to follow Bargwanna across the line.

The round was won by Todd Kelly ahead of Garth Tander and Rick Kelly.

Larkham -- Orrcon Racing will now turn their focus to preparations for the next round of the Championship at Queensland Raceway on July 22 -- 24.
