FPR TAKES SECOND POLE POSITION OF THE SEASON IN DARWIN

July 1, 2006 - Ford Performance Racing (FPR) has raced to the team's second Pole position of the season at Darwin's Hidden Valley Raceway today.

CAT FPR Falcon driver Jason Bright translated his second fastest lap time in qualifying to the top spot in the closely fought top ten shoot-out, continuing the excellent form that he and his team mate Mark Winterbottom have displayed all weekend in Australia's top end.

Winterbottom drove his BroadIP Ford Credit Falcon to 6th in qualifying and 5th in the shoot-out, ensuring FPR's status as the Ford team that is mounting the most serious blue oval challenge for victory in today's opening 34 lap race.

Bright will lead Holden drivers Mark Skaife, Garth Tander and Rick Kelly into battle in race one at 3:30pm EST. This team effort marks the first time that both FPR Falcons have qualified in the V8 Supercar top five.

#5 Jason Bright,"That was one of the best qualifying and shoot out laps that I have ever driven. The car is great and it is fantastic to score two pole positions in a row at this high speed circuit."

#6 Mark Winterbottom -- "I took the shoot-out lap fairly conservatively as I saw the other guys making mistakes and it was a strong top five time, in which I am very happy with. The car is in great form for the race."
