PERFECT CAR NOT FAR OFF
Testing at Winton last month has seen a slight change in direction for the Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing team at Darwin this weekend as V8 Supercar rookie Karl Reindler chases the perfect car set-up.
Reindler showed he has what it takes at the last race meeting, when he set the fastest lap overall in Sunday's race. He now believes a move towards team-mate Jason Bright's set-up will help him score his first top-ten finish.
Reindler will fly into Darwin for the Hidden Valley V8 Supercar round tonight (Tuesday) in time for a military press call at HMAS Coonawarra, Larrakeyah Barracks, Darwin in the morning (Wednesday).
He will be at the barracks with team-mates Jason Bright and Jason Richards, the race cars and team transporters for interviews and a photo opportunity at 10am. Media wishing to attend should register their interest with Megan Haines on 08 8935 5648.

"I'm really looking forward to getting out on the patrol boat. I've been on a US navy destroyer from Honolulu to San Diego before, which was pretty awesome. I got to fire some machine guns and they reeled off some rounds on the Gatling gun. About the only thing they didn't do was the Tomahawk Missiles, which I thought was a pretty good thing!
"We found a lot of pace at our test day and we're pretty confident about the gains we've found. We were going down our own track with the set-up but we've got on board with more of what Brighty's doing so we're helping him out now with more data. The new set-up is just generally a bit more user-friendly to drive; we're getting closer to the perfect car.
"I've never raced at Hidden Valley before but I can take bits and pieces from other circuits I've been to. It looks to be reasonably flowing with a very long straight, which looks a little bit like Phillip Island. The level of grip isn't that great either so the experience I've racked up this year should make it easier to adjust."
