MORE TO COME FROM PERKINS IN DARWIN
Dodo Racing Team driver Jack Perkins says that there is more to come from the #11 Dodo Holden Commodore after setting the 23rd fastest time in practice for the SKYCITY Triple Crown at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin today.
Perkins is confident that the potential is there for even more speed entering this weekend's two races, where the second-generation racer is looking to post a solid finish to boost his championship challenge.
Earlier in the day, Perkins was 14th fastest in Part A of practice, where drivers outside the top 15 in the championship points are permitted additional track time.
Will Davison put Holden on the top of the timesheets with the fastest time in practice at Hidden Valley Raceway today ahead of Shane Van Gisbergen and Craig Lowndes.
WHAT JACK HAD TO SAY ...
Jack Perkins - #11 Dodo Holden Commodore
"Today wasn't too bad for us," said Perkins.
"The Dodo Commodore deserves to be higher up the order.
"We ran on one set of tyres for about 70 percent of the time and concentrated on long runs on old tyres, which is what we will be doing at the end of each race.
"I think the car is pretty good. We put our better set of used tyres on and I think we're good enough to be somewhere between 10th and 20th.
"I think I can improve a little bit as well we will work at getting the whole package working better. The true indication of everyone's pace will come tomorrow."
