Erebus signs young gun Brown for Supercars enduros

Brown made the switch to tin-tops last season after a promising open-wheel career saw him clinch the Australian Formula 4 Championship and finish second in the Australian Formula Ford Series in 2016, the latter resulting in a trip to the Mazda Road to Indy Shootout in the United States.

With a season of the second-tier Super2 series under his belt, Brown is now gearing up to make his main series debut thanks to an enduro deal with Erebus, which has already re-signed reigning Bathurst 1000 winner Luke Youlden.

“I’m super excited; obviously to get a co-drive, start my first Bathurst 1000 and make my main series debut is pretty cool,” Brown said.

“I stepped up into Super2 [in 2017] and did a good job. But I think doing so many categories over the last few years, and being able to adapt between different cars has helped me to jump into a Supercar and do a good job.”

According to Erebus General Manager of Motorsport Barry Ryan, it's that standout rookie season in Super2, which saw Brown finish ninth in the points, that made him a target for the team.

"Will has been a real stand out talent in the recent years and particularly in his rookie Super2 season in 2017,” Ryan said.

“We are very pleased to sign Will to drive his maiden Enduro Cup; he displays maturity above his years both on and off track.

"We look forward to seeing his driving talents first hand and being part of his development and growth."

While Youlden and David Reynolds enjoyed that fairytale Bathurst win last season, there's been no confirmation from the team of which of the co-drivers will partner Reynolds, and which will partner new signing Anton de Pasquale this time around.

Brown will sample the Erebus ZB Commodore for the first time at the team's test day next month.
