McLean 27th In First V8 Leg At Eastern Creek

BRISBANE driver Cameron McLean battled fading rear tyres on his Paragon Motorsport Ford Falcon XR8 as he raced to 27th place in the first leg of round three of the V8 Supercar Championship Series today at Eastern Creek Raceway, near Sydney.

McLean started the V.I.P. Pet Foods-sponsored Falcon in 21st, but came under pressure as the rear tyres over-heated.

"There was nothing we could do in a race of just 13 laps, but we now know what has to be changed tonight to make the tyres last through two 39-lap races tomorrow," McLean said.

"Despite this I'm pretty happy, because we badly needed some race miles after having to miss the last round at Phillip Island.

"We'll be in better shape tomorrow and there will be plenty of chance to make up places and championship points."

TEAM SPONSORS: In addition to V.I.P. Pet Foods, the Paragon Motorsport Ford Falcon V8 Supercar is sponsored by Cox Lawn Care Products, All Power Steering, Eibach Springs, Freightliner Trucks, PPG Paints, Revolution Racegear, Screen Offset Printing, Snap-on Tools, Spandex, Street Smart Designs and Wurth.
