Will Davison’s Erebus V8 Supercar will run a special retro Penrite livery at this weekend’s Sydney 500.
The one-off livery celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Australian-owned Penrite Oil company, which took over the primary sponsorship on the #9 Mercedes just before this year’s Bathurst 1000.
“This is a perfect fit for Penrite; V8 Supercars is one of Australia’s most loved pastimes,” said Penrite’s general manager Toby Dymond, whose family has owned the company since 1979.
“We are proud of the company my family built. We have created a line of merchandise and will introduce limited edition lines of product throughout 2016.
“We are proud to be an Australian-owned and made product. V8 Supercars is the third most watched sport in Australia and we see great value in being a part of it.”
The livery will also be the last one that Davison will race in for Erebus, before he heads off to Tekno Autosports for the 2016 season.
