Following today's top 15 shoot-out, Cat Racing's John Bowe and Simon Wills will start from seventh on the grid for tomorrow's V8 Supercar 1000 at Bathurst

Bowe recorded a time of 2:10.438 for his single flying lap, placing him as the fourth fastest Ford.

The blue oval marque will head the front row of the grid tomorrow, with Marcos Ambrose taking pole position ahead of Glenn Seton.

"To be honest I am little disappointed, but it was the best I could squeeze out of the car," Bowe said.

"I lost a bit of time when the car got a little loose through Reid Park and McPhillamy and I had to get out of the throttle.

"At the end of the day, there is no use in throwing the car into the wall trying to get on pole, and we will have a strong starting position for tomorrow."

While qualifying may be important for gaining your starting spot, Bowe believes tactics will be the deciding factor tomorrow.

"Making the right calls at the right time from the pits will be the real key, but the weather could also play a part," Bowe said.

"Our car is very strong and I am really looking forward to the race. Simon
and I have a great chance tomorrow and we will have to keep pressing on.

"The competition this year is very tough and any one of 20 cars could win tomorrow."

Wills is eagerly awaiting the chance to team up with Bowe tomorrow in his fourth - and Bowe's 16th - attack on Mount Panorama.

"John is the expert around here and he has done a great job in setting up the car," Wills said.

"I am really looking forward to the race because I believe we have a great chance to do well.

"The has gone really well so far and the team has done a fantastic job. Sunday will be very tough but I feel very comfortable in the car and I am very confident in the team."

Tomorrow's 161-lap event kicks off at 10.00. <pre>
