Jason Bright is confident that Team BOC can build on its championship momentum with a strong result at Perth's Barbagallo Raceway this weekend.

Bright has rocketed up the championship standings following a difficult start to the season.

After scoring the second highest points total for the Winton weekend, he followed that up with Team BOC’s first win of the season in race 10 of the championship at Pukekohe in New Zealand, moving up to eighth in the championship.

"The first couple of rounds really punished us but we've just got to keep working as we have been and being consistent and getting a good result when we can and we'll just keep moving up I’m sure," Bright said.

The pace of the Team BOC VF Commodore has been particularly impressive on low grip circuits and Bright is confident that it will suit Barbagallo Raceway.

"Perth is very low grip and quite abrasive," he said.

"It’s a soft tyre round and I think that should also go well for us.

"It’s going to be interesting to see how it goes, hopefully we can get a good haul of points," Bright said.

Barbagallo Raceway has been a happy hunting ground for Bright and Team BOC, including the historic first win for the team in 2011.

"Getting the first win for Team BOC at Barbagallo was great," he said.

"Last year was great as well, I felt like we were the fastest car out there.

"There are a couple of corners that suit the way I like to set up a car and hopefully that stands up again this year."

Round 5 of the V8 Supercar Championship starts on Friday May 16 with three practice sessions followed by two races on Saturday and one on Sunday.
