Bourdais, Ingall hit the track at Winton

Pre-Sandown 500 testing gets back underway today, with the four Walkinshaw-run cars taking to Winton.

The test, which started in damp conditions, is IndyCar driver Sebastien Bourdais’ first steer of a V8 Supercar since the Gold Coast race back in 2012.

The Frenchman will share the ‘Team 18’ Commodore with Lee Holdsworth at all three endurance races this year, which means he’ll have his first taste of Sandown and Bathurst, and his fourth go on the streets of Surfers Paradise in a V8.

Russell Ingall, meanwhile, is having his first run in the #22 Holden Racing Team entry, which he will share with Jack Perkins at the Sandown 500.

The veteran is stepping in to replace the injured James Courtney at the opening endurance race, and may even make a Bathurst 1000 start depending on Courtney’s recovery.

Garth Tander and Warren Luff are sharing the Winton running in the #2 HRT car, while Tim Slade and co-driver Tony D’Alberto are in action in the Supercheap Auto-backed Commodore.
