Betta Electrical takes up title sponsorship for V8 Ultimate - Sandown
Betta Stores Ltd. CEO. Guy Houghton announced today Betta Electrical has become the title sponsor for the final V8 Supercars round of the 2002 series. The event will now be know as "BETTA ELECTRICAL V8 ULTIMATE" - Sandown.
Mr Houghton stated the company had entered the V8 Supercar Series this year with a two-car AU Falcon team administered by Briggs Motorsport.
BSL wanted to raise the brand identification of the Betta Electrical Stores nationally as well as throughout New Zealand and felt that sponsorship of the V8 Supercar Team was the most cost effective manner in which to achieve this outcome.
We are very pleased with the public support of both the Team and the drivers Tony Longhurst and Max Wilson in the rounds to date, all of which has contributed greatly to the company's profile he said.
We have now extended our involvement with Briggs Motorsport taking us through until at least the end of 2004.
The decision to take up the title sponsorship for this, the last event of the 2002 season will round off our first year's involvement as a major team sponsor in the V8 Supercar Series, offering BSL maximum exposure during the event as well as affording our 400 strong retail outlets to join in with both promotional and marketing initiatives commented Mr Houghton.
We are very proud to be a major sponsor of the V8 Supercar phenomenon.
The growth of this class of Motorsport is nothing short of amazing, with record-breaking attendance figures and unprecedented television audience figures.
V8 Supercars have even out performed the popularity of the Formula One Grand Prix in viewer audience numbers of motor race fans he said.
We plan to continue our brand awareness campaign nationally using the V8 Supercar Series and look forward to working closely with IMG, Avesco, Ford and the Ten Network in order to achieve this goal, he commented.
