FUJISTU RACING FINALISE BATHURST PREPARATIONS
The Fujitsu Racing duo of Jason Bright and Adam Macrow have completed the final 'happy-hour' practice at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and are now set for tomorrow's big race.
With the full race set-up in the Fujitsu Racing Falcon, Bright and Macrow completed a total of 15 laps in the session to finish with the 11th fastest time.
More importantly the team ran the car on both low and full fuel loads to properly access the car's performance. Both drivers giving the Fujitsu Racing Ford the thumbs-up.
"We have a very good race package," said Bright.
"Pretty much everyone in front of us was in qualifying trim for the top-10 shootout. So being 11th in race set-up has the team feeling very confident for the race tomorrow.
"The most important thing is that the car feels very strong and is comfortable to drive. That is going to be very important over 1000-kilometres of racing.
"I have full confidence in the team; including Adam, who I'm sure will do another outstanding job."
Macrow drove the second segment of practice with full tanks and old tyres.
"The good thing is that tomorrow I will have new tyres at my disposal in the race," said Macrow.
"Even on old tyres today, the car felt really good and I couldn't be happier going into the race.
"Jason and the boys have worked hard on the set-up and I have to say they have done an excellent job.
"Let's go racing!"
Fujitsu Racing Chief Engineer Geoff Slater was delighted with today's practice session.
"A very good way to finalise our preparation for the big race," said Slater.
"We made some further improvements to the chassis and both boys were pleased with the car.
"There have been no dramas with the car during all the practice and qualifying session which has been down to the excellent preparation we have put into this weekend.
"As well as the car preparation, we have worked hard on our pit stops and strategy. Overall we feel very confident going into the race."
A final 20-minute warm-up will be held tomorrow morning at 7.10am -- with the big race getting underway at 10.30am.
