"WHOLE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE" FOR REINDLER

Running across the top of The Mountain on green tyres was a revelation for Karl Reindler today as he turned in one of his best Practice performances of the year.

The V8 Supercar rookie finished 16th fastest at Mount Panorama and said his first experience of fresh, grippy tyres at Bathurst took some getting used to.

He and co-driver David Wall, who is also competing in the GT Championship this weekend, worked on improving the Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing's turning capacity during today's three sessions.

Both reported big improvements and will have two more chances to fine-tune the Commodore before qualifying at 14.35 tomorrow.

"I didn't really have any expectations this weekend but I knew the car was in the ball park.

"It's the first chance in two years I've had to run on a green tyre and it's a totally different experience; the extra grip just promotes confidence so much. It's the first time I've actually taken a few risks around Bathurst but it felt comfortable.

"The car's easy to drive but it's difficult putting a lap together. I think I could get a low 2min 8sec time if I could just put the sectors together but we're happy with the progress."

David Wall
Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing Co-Driver
"Driving the Porsche and the V8 Supercar requires two very different mentalities; you need five minutes to reacclimatize yourself! The out-lap is usually enough.

"I haven't done a lot of laps in either car today as there have been loads of red flags. I think I only completed four laps in the Fair Dinkum Sheds car because we were changing the car a lot. Basically we were looking for turn in the car so we were adjusting springs, roll centre and ride height.

"My fastest lap was my last lap and my in-lap was another second faster again so if we'd had another few minutes I'm sure we could have found a lot of time."
