Top 15 for Wall at Bathurst

David Wall and his Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing co-driver, Karl Reindler, have finished 15th in the 2010 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

In an almost faultless race, they fought their way inside the top ten to be in 6th place after their final stop.

After their last stop, Karl began to experience problems with the cars handling and dropped back in the order through his final stint.

In just his second start in the Bathurst 1000, David along with his team mate pushed hard to fight their way from their starting position of 22nd, into the top ten in the closing stages of the race.

The #21 Commodore and the driving of David and Karl were one of the most fuel efficient combinations during the race, which gave them an advantage. However, two safety cars in the closing stages of the race allowed the drivers around them to gain the fuel efficiency they needed to make it to the end of the race, negating this advantage.

"I am really pleased to have finished the race in the top 15," said David after the race.

"Of course to come close to finishing further up the order and to have the problems we did so close to the end of the race is disappointing, but in a race like the Bathurst 1000 everyone always comes away with what ifs.

"I felt really comfortable in the car and was really happy with the pace we were setting during the race.

"When the short rain shower came through the car was brilliant - almost better than in the dry.

"While we struggled with outright qualifying speed, we were confident going into the race that we would be able to run consistently throughout, whilst conserving fuel.

"Working with the Fair Dinkum Sheds Racing team and with Karl in both endurance races this year has been an amazing experience. Their professionalism and dedication has really impressed me and I hope I will have an opportunity to run with them again."

David will be back in his Championship leading Wilson Security Porsche at Sandown in six weeks time for the final round of the Australian GT Championship. He will go into the weekend leading the championship and hoping to win back to back Championships.

David Wall is racing this year thanks to the continued support of Wilson Security, Payce, Shannons and Mount Aqua.
