BRIGHT AND RITTER IN V8 400 TOP TEN

May 7, 2005 - Ford Performance Racing (FPR) drivers Jason Bright and Greg Ritter have qualified inside the top ten for this afternoon's first Western Australian V8 Supercar race starting at 3:00pm (5:00pm EST).

Ritter qualified 5th overall in his Ford Credit FPV Falcon after topping the lower 50% qualifying session timesheet, while Bright's CAT FPR Falcon slotted into 8th during the top 50% qualifying session.

The top ten shoot out saw Bright elevate himself to 6th on today's race starting grid, while Ritter will start from 9th.

Ford driver Craig Lowndes will start the first of three Perth V8 Supercar sprint races from Pole position ahead of Ford rival Marcos Ambrose and Holden driver Steven Richards.

#6 Jason Bright - "We had a good car for qualifying but today's sunny and cloudy conditions had a strange effect on the circuit's grip level. Even on new tyres I struggled to better the time that I set on used tyres - which was the opposite of what was happening yesterday. We have a good race car and we are looking forward to the races."

#5 Greg Ritter - "The car is not perfect and we will be able to get more speed from it for the races. We have some general balance issues to address and some fine tuning is needed, having said this, I am very happy with our result and there is more to come."
