BARGWANNA CONTINUES TO RISE AT AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX
Jason Bargwanna has continued to move his #11 Rock Holden Commodore up the order at the BRC IMPCO Challenge with a 12th place finish at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit in Melbourne today.
Bargwanna's performance today is his highest-placed finish for the season so far and although it came in a non-points event, still represents positive signs for the Rock Racing crew.
Tony Ricciardello began well in today's race aboard the #16 Stratco Holden Commodore, but a spin mid-race delayed his progress and slightly damaged the rear of his Commodore. He brought the car home in 27th place at the end of the 13-lap race.
Garth Tander won today's second race of the BRC IMPCO Challenge ahead of Jamie Whincup and James Courtney.
KELLY RACING QUOTEBOARD
JASON BARGWANNA - #11 Rock Holden Commodore:
"So far that is our best result on paper for the season," said Jason Bargwanna.
"We're fighting back as the weekend progresses and the crew are putting in a really good effort.
"The team is working very hard so it's nice to have that work pay off with results.
"I'm happy with how we are able to keep improving and we will continue to work on the Rock Commodore to try and crack the top 10 tomorrow."
TONY RICCIARDELLO - #16 Stratco Holden Commodore:
"We made some progress with our car speed overnight," said Tony Ricciardello.
"At Turn 10 I made a mistake and lost the back end of the car and it scrapped the wall.
"We are improving but as part of that you also have to make sure that you learn from your mistakes.
"The Stratco Commodore will be back out there tomorrow and we will try to put in our best run for the weekend."
