MIXED FORTUNES FOR KELLY BROTHERS AT ALBERT PARK

Jack Daniel's Racing drivers Todd and Rick Kelly have experienced mixed fortunes in the second race of the BRC IMPCO Challenge at the Formula 1 Qantas Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Victoria today.

Todd Kelly started from sixth position and immediately jumped to fifth with a great start aboard his #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore.

Unfortunately brake problems stopped Todd Kelly's charge on the third lap, ending what could have been a strong run for him as his car had responded well to overnight set-up changes.

Rick Kelly started from 24th position as a result of experiencing problems of his own yesterday, and fought hard to reach 15th position in today's 13-lap race.

Both Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodores will hit the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit tomorrow afternoon for the third and final race of the weekend.

Garth Tander won today's second race of the BRC IMPCO Challenge ahead of Jamie Whincup and James Courtney.

JACK DANIEL'S RACING QUOTEBOARD

RICK KELLY - #15 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:

"We made up some ground but we would have liked to have got even further up than that," said Rick Kelly.

"We changed the car set-up again on the Jack Daniel's Commodore and they were some pretty aggressive changes overnight.

"Unfortunately we went the wrong way a little bit, but that's what we're here to do, to learn the car.

"We can always go back to Race 1's set-up, where we were considerably better than the cars we will start around tomorrow, so hopefully that will get us back to where we need to be up the front tomorrow."

TODD KELLY - #7 Jack Daniel's Racing Holden Commodore:

"We made a few changes to the car again and got a good start," said Todd Kelly.

"The Jack Daniel's Commodore felt unreal. I got the feeling on the first lap that things were looking good, I just needed to chip away and pass the guys in front.

"Sometimes you get the feeling that you just need to hang in because the car is not that flash, but I felt extremely confident that I could press on and get a great result.

"But not very long into the race I started to get a drama with the brake pedal. As I broke at the end of the main straight the pedal slowly went straight to the floor and I only just got it slowed down and turned in before I was about to run into trouble.

"For the rest of the lap it kept going straight to the floor and all I could do was come into pit lane and finish the race, which was a real shame because I was quite excited about the changes we made to the car.

"It's the first time this year that I've been extremely confident about plucking off the cars in front, and they were good cars. I was already in fifth and planning on having a crack at those guys, so it's going to be a harder day tomorrow but we are certainly heading in the right direction with what we are doing to the car.

"I'm already looking forward to getting to Hamilton with the way we are developing our new package."
