Novocastrian Drew Russell is set return to the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series this weekend with new team, Adrenalin Motor Racing.
Joining Drew in the two-car team will be his younger brother and former Formula Vee star, Aaren.
The new team will receive support from Zemana AntiLogger, high-performance malware protection software.
Aaren finished 4th in the 2009 NSW Formula Vee championship and was awarded the 'young hot shot' award and young driver of the year award for his outstanding performance.
For Aaren the jump from Formula Vee to V8 Supercar is massive, but thanks to family support he is looking forward to hitting the track for the first time tomorrow at the Clipsal 500.
"Drew has been fantastic in the lead up to this weekend. The car is massively different to the Formula Vee, particularly under braking, but Drew has spent a lot of time with me, both during our test day and away from the track helping me to learn how to race a V8 Supercar," Aaren said.
"I have not spent a significant amount of time in the car in the lead up to this round, but we were able to spend the day out at the track last week which helped a lot. I did about 60 laps around Wakefield Park which has helped me to understand the way the car behaves -- but the Clipsal 500 track is a very different prospect!
"I am looking forward to getting out there, but my main aim this weekend will be to bring the car home safely. This is a learning year for me and I am not expecting to go out there and win every race."
Aaren will join the other rookies in the series in a special practice session to help them get used to the daunting track.
While Aaren will be focused on learning the circuit and the car, his brother Drew is out to be fighting for podium finishes during the year.
"Last year was an up and down year that saw me lead my first race, but also miss races due to team difficulties," said Drew.
"This year I am looking at putting in a full year of solid results and hopefully that will see me fighting for podium finishes."
The 2010 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series gets underway with practice on Thursday 11 March, with qualifying and the first race of the year to be held on Friday 12 March.
