MCNALLY ON THE MOVE IN PHILLIP ISLAND V8 UTES

Rhys McNally drove a solid first race in the V8 Utes at Phillip Island today to finish 12th on the sweeping ocean-side circuit.

After qualifying 15th yesterday, Rhys spent some time looking at where he could improve his speed in today's race.

"I really needed to find some race pace today so that we could move up the field," Rhys said.

After a lot of bumping in the opening laps where Rhys found himself caught wide on a few occasions he was able to settle into the race and start gaining on those ahead.

"I had a great race towards the end today, we definitely had pace on those in front but just couldn't find a way past.

"I am happy with the improvements we made to the car and am looking forward to tomorrow's race."

Rhys will start off the second row in tomorrow's race and has an opportunity for a top result.

"I just need to get a good clean start, put in some fast laps and we will be set for a good race.

"We will just go out there and do our best just as we always do."

Rhys will attend a V8 BBQ tonight with poster signing and meeting people, and talking about what West Coast Racing is all about.
