USF2000 reveals design of new car

Mazda Road to Indy's USF2000 championship has released a rendering of its new Tatuus USF-17 chassis, which will be introduced from the 2017 campaign onwards.

The new car will replace the outgoing Van Diemen Elan, which served as the series' chassis since it became a one-spec championship in 2010.

The cost of the new chassis will stand at $51,400 and MRTI organiser Andersen Promotions had confirmed it will serve as the basis for the new Pro Mazda car to be introduced for 2018.

The two-liter Mazda MZR engines will remain as the chosen powertrain for USF2000, while Cooper Tires are retained as the tire supplier.
