Fourteen different drivers have scored victories in USAC's 2004 Western Midget Car Series which resumes this Saturday night at the Kings Speedway in Hanford, Calif.

Two who have not are series point leaders Johnny Rodriguez of Elk Grove, Calif. and Wally Pankratz of Orange, Calif., who could use a victory to close the 93-point gap on the series leader.

Rodriguez has five runner-up finishes, three thirds, a fourth and a fifth in 20 starts this season, while Pankratz, also in 20 starts, has a second, three thirds, three fourths and three fifths. The two drivers finished fifth (Pankratz) and seventh (Rodriguez) in the May 8 race at the 3/8-mile dirt Hanford oval.

One driver not seeking his first 2004 win is defending series titlist Steve Paden of Downey, Calif. Paden's four wins are the most by any Western Midget driver this year and he won the May 8 Hanford feature. He's currently fourth in the standings.

A 30-lap feature event tops Saturday night's program at Hanford.
