Kansas City, MO - Tyler Walker, the hottest driver in USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series competition with back to back wins at Nazareth and DuQuoin, is looking for his third triumph in a row at the Tulsa Motorplex this weekend.
Tyler Walker stunned the USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series at Nazareth, winning for the first time at the "Bully Hill Vineyards 100" aboard the Weld Wheels-equipped Curb Records/Brown & Miller Plumbing Beast/Mopar owned by NEXTEL Cup Rookie of the Year candidate Kasey Kahne. Walker proved his win at Nazareth was no fluke, as he backed up his first Silver Crown Series victory on Nazareth's pavement with a resounding win under the lights on the dirt mile at DuQuoin.
"I'm grateful for all the support that Weld Racing has given me over the years," said Walker recently, adding "with many more years to come."
Walker, who qualified second in the 32-car field behind early race leader and pole sitter Steele, made his winning move at Nazareth on lap 81 and held off the USAC veteran over the final 19 miles of the race. Walker averaged 103.043 mph on his Weld Wheels-equipped entry for the 100 mile distance in USAC's last visit to the paved Pennsylvania Speedway.
Walker backed up his Pennsylvania pavement exploits with a dominating performance on DuQuoin's dirt, setting fast time in qualifications at 29.138 seconds before leading every lap of the "Ted Horn 100."
Walker will compete at Tulsa with the Weld-equipped Kahne entry this weekend in USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series competition.
