Tony Stewart Racing's Jones, Stenhouse, Jr., Take Aim at Three USAC Series Victories in Chevrolet-Sponsored Event at Eldora Speedway
INDIANAPOLIS (September 17, 2007) -- This weekend, Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway will be covered in the red, black and gold colors of Chevrolet Racing. But when the green flag drops on the American Revolution/USAC 4-Crown Nationals Saturday night, Tony Stewart Racing's (TSR) Levi Jones and Ricky Stenhouse Jr., will only be looking for the black and white of the checkered flag.
TSR and USAC Racing's biggest stars will take to the legendary half-mile dirt-oval Saturday, Sept. 22, for the second leg of the American Revolution Weekend presented by Chevrolet. With full racing events on tap for the USAC National Silver Crown, Sprint and Midget Series, the countryside of Rossburg, Ohio, will be alive with the sounds of non-winged sprint cars for the first time since late April.
Jones leads the USAC Sprint Series into the marquee event, as he runs at the front of the championship standings with 1,206 markers. Having won four series events thus far this season, Jones will look to return to the winner's circle in a sprint car at Eldora Speedway for the first time since Sept. 24, 2005. He'll also be seeking his second USAC Midget Series victory of the year, as well as his first career USAC Silver Crown Series win.
Stenhouse will pull double-duty on Friday and Saturday, as he will compete in the World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series event with Chevrolet power on loan from TSR in the September 21 race. On Saturday, the 19-year-old will look to win his second USAC Sprint Car Series race of the season, as well as put his fifth USAC Midget Series victory in the books. Having won two USAC Silver Crown Series dirt races in 2007, Stenhouse will also look to become the series' only three-time winner this season.
Trailing series leader Jones by 356 points, Stenhouse is ranked fifth in the USAC Sprint Series standings with 850 points. He is also ranked third in the USAC Midget Series championship chase with 970 points, trailing series leader Jerry Coons Jr., by 379 markers. In addition to his 104 point lead in the USAC Sprint Series standings, Jones is ranked seventh in the USAC Midget Series with 805 points. Due to competing only in the USAC Silver Crown events held at dirt-track venues, TSR's Jones and Stenhouse are not eligible to win the series championship.
The two-day American Revolution Weekend presented by Chevrolet will kick off on Friday, September 21, with gates opening at 3 p.m. EDT. Practice for the WoO Sprint Series and United Midwest Promoters UMP Modifieds begins at 6 p.m. EDT with racing scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
For Saturday's American Revolution Weekend/USAC 4-Crown finale, gates will open at 11 a.m. EDT. Practice and qualifying for the USAC Silver Crown, Sprint and Midget divisions will take place between 3 -- 6 p.m. An autograph session featuring the stars of USAC is scheduled for 6:15 -- 7 p.m. EDT. The event is open to the public and will be conducted in the multi-purpose building outside turns three and four on the Eldora Speedway property. Racing for all three USAC divisions will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
Reserved seating for both nights of the American Revolution Weekend at Eldora Speedway can be purchased by calling 937-338-3815. Race fans can also purchase tickets at the gate each day.

Eldora Speedway is traditionally one of your favorite racetracks. Are you looking forward to having three opportunities to win at the facility this weekend?
"Racing at Eldora is always something to look forward to, but this weekend will be even more special as we'll be competing as the Chevrolet factory team in the American Revolution Weekend. It's a great opportunity for TSR to showcase Chevrolet's dedication to open-wheel racing. They've really given us a great season, especially in their first run with open-wheel racing. I am really looking forward to getting back to Eldora this weekend, and I think we're going to have a great shot at winning all three USAC events on Saturday night."
Jones will be featured in a two-part written series that gives race fans and media an up-close and personal view of a lap around Eldora Speedway. The series will be sent via e-mail Sept. 19 -- 20.
Quotes from Ricky Stenhouse, driver of the No. 21 TSR/Chevrolet/Maxim -- USAC National Sprint Car Series, No. 21 TSR/Chevrolet/Spike -- USAC National Midget Car Series and the No. 22 TSR/Chevrolet/Maxim -- USAC Silver Crown Series
You're going to compete in both the World of Outlaws Sprint Series event and all three USAC Racing Series events at Eldora Speedway this weekend. Do you think it will be difficult to transition from the different types of cars?
"I really don't think I'll have any trouble adapting from one car to another. The only major difference between the non-winged sprint car and the winged sprint car is the speed at which things happen. Things really come up on the track a lot quicker in the winged car and you have to be conscious of that when you're going back and forth between the two. I ran both cars at Sharon Speedway in August and it didn't take me a lot of time to get comfortable in either car; probably a lap or two in each one. I'm really looking forward to all of the events at Eldora this weekend and can't wait to have so much going on in just two days."
Are you looking forward to one of the events more so than the others?
"I am really looking forward to the midget race on Saturday night. We've been really strong in the midget this year and I think we're going to have the best shot at winning that feature event. We'll be fast in all three events on Saturday, but it would be pretty cool to get a midget win at Eldora Speedway."
Do you think the Chevrolet engines that TSR competes will with provide an advantage this weekend?
"We're going to be strong in all three divisions but I think we're going to have an even better shot at winning the silver crown race. Our silver crown engine program has been really good lately and I am really excited about taking those cars to Eldora this weekend. With our wins at Springfield and DuQuoin in the past few weeks, I know that the Chevy engines will be strong on the half-mile as well. It would be great to put a TSR car in the winner's circle in all three races on Saturday night."
