Tony Stewart Racing's Jones, Stenhouse, Jr., Seeking Success In Ohio USAC Racing Series Action
INDIANAPOLIS (July 3, 2007) -- Tony Stewart Racing's (TSR) Levi Jones and Ricky Stenhouse have been quietly navigating their way through the pavement and dirt roads that lead to championships in the USAC National Sprint and Midget Car Series. The TSR team has steadily been gaining momentum with its pavement racing program since the season began, and with a two doubleheaders on tap for this weekend, the team will have its best shot at a breakout victory to date.
TSR will kick off the busy weekend with a stop at Toledo (Ohio) Speedway on Friday. The Nos. 20 and 21 TSR/Chevrolet/BEAST teams will move on to Mansfield Motorsports Park (MMP) in Mansfield, Ohio, on Saturday to wrap up the four-race swing. Each event will feature both the USAC Sprint and Midget Series.
Jones is no stranger to running in the front at either track, but two top-five finishes at Toledo Speedway in 2006 make him an early favorite. On July 8, 2006, Jones posted a fifth-place finish in the USAC Sprint Series feature and a fourth-place finish in the USAC Midget Series event at Toledo's half-mile. His first appearance on MMP's half-mile track on July 9, 2005, saw him earn a 13th place finish in USAC Sprint Series competition.
Jones and the No. 20 team lead the USAC Sprint Series championship heading into this weekend's event with 649 points. Jones has also scored four Sprint Car victories thus far in 2007, making him the series' only four-time winner this year. He also has a pavement win to his credit, as he won the USAC Sprint Series feature at Anderson Speedway on May 23. Jones is ranked third in the USAC Midget Series standings with 264 points.
This weekend's doubleheaders will mark Stenhouse's first appearances at Toledo Speedway and MMP. Stenhouse has one Sprint Car victory this season, having claimed the checkered flag at Big Diamond (Pa.) Raceway on June 7. He also has two Midget Car victories to his credit and is ranked ninth in the USAC Sprint Car Series standings with 352 points. Stenhouse is ranked fourth in the USAC Midget Series standings with 263 points.

Quotes from Levi Jones, driver of the No. 20 TSR/Chevrolet/BEAST
You won a pavement race at Anderson Speedway in May. Do you think TSR can get its second pavement victory in Ohio this week?
"This will be the first time we've had several pavement races in a row and I think that it's definitely going to be a big help. We'll be able to take both nights and really focus on adjusting to the way the track changes. It's also going to be really good to get adjusted to racing on the pavement for several consecutive events. Switching back and forth from the pavement and dirt isn't really an issue, but we've been really trying to learn more to help our program and it will be good to have several races at a time to try some different things. Hopefully, all of our hard work will translate into a victory for Chevy and Bass Pro Shops."
Quotes from Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., driver of the No. 21 TSR/Chevrolet/BEAST
What's the best thing about having four pavement races all in the same weekend?
"We're going to be able to get into a rhythm on the pavement and that's going to be a huge help. We've been working so hard on the pavement side and we're going to be able to really get a feel for some of the things we've implemented into our set-ups. Levi and I both ran well at Richmond last weekend and I think that we're going to be right there in Ohio this weekend. TSR is going to have a great shot at putting Chevrolet and Bass Pro Shops in victory lane."
